Remembering Mitch Hedberg

(From Wikipedia) Mitch Hedberg was an American stand-up comedian known for his surreal humor and unconventional comedic delivery. His comedy typically featured short, sometimes one-line jokes, mixed with absurd elements and non sequiturs. Hedberg's comedy and on-stage persona gained him a cult following, with audience members sometimes shouting out the punchlines to his jokes before he could finish them.

Welcome Chelsea our new OOGIE

Thanks for your input Chelsea, very good point. Steven Wright is one of the few comics that can pull the pun off. I don't think their can really be a low form or high brow humor. It really comes down to the performer and how he delivers his material. I love Steven Wright and Miss Mitch's Comedy A LOT, he was truly a unique voice that is often forgotton. What did you think of the rumor going around the that Demetri Martin stole Mitch's act? Thanks again for your post :)

Puns

I've heard that puns are one of the lowest forms of humor... but I don't think that's necessarily true. Awesome comics like Mitch Hedberg and Steven Wright work puns into sets and it's brilliant, not asinine. Still, I know most of my friends don't really love puns and every time I've put one in a set the reaction is VERY inconsistent. Thoughts?
